Relief Work and Disaster Management:

The Kutch Navnirman Trust Abhiyan is a network of 14 grassroots NGOs founded in response to the devastating cyclone that hit Kutch in May 1998. Ashapura Foundation is a member of this network . When the earthquake struck on 26th January 2001 the network commenced a monumental relief operation in close co-operation with the district administration and donor agencies.

Ashapura Foundation is responsible for constructing 213 temporary houses and 229 permanent houses in 7 villages
School rooms were repaired and reconstructed
A special school was set up in the colony created.
 
Restoration of Damaged Monuments:

The Bhuj earthquake destroyed several historical monuments in the area among them was Lakhparji’s Chhatardi (AD1752-1761) a major tourist attraction. These monuments had withstood the earlier earthquakes of 1819 and 1956 but obviously this was too strong. A replica of the monument has been created.
