One
of the largest & versatile area covering Bentonite
deposits is controlled by Ashapura. Majority of these
deposits are located in the Kutch district in Gujarat
State on West Coast of India. The total mining area
1220 acres with estimated mining reserves of over 25
million MT. A major part of these deposits consist of
Sodium Bentonite suitable for drilling, foundry, Iron
Ore Pelletisation applications. Apart from these, are
also deposites of Calcium Bentonite suitable for drilling
applications.
Mining
activities are carried out with earth moving equipment
with open cast mining. Deposits are located at a very
small depth from the surface of the earth.
We
have collected extensive prospecting data on the reserves
at the mines & their quality. Prospecting is carried
out with the help of modern vartical drilling machine.
