Bauxite Mines

Bauxite deposits of Kutch and Jamnagar region are of recent to sedimentary age with high alumina and low impurities. These deposits are extracted by open cast mining from strata, typically some 4-6 metres thick under a shallow covering of topsoil and vegetation. Heavy earth moving machineries are deployed. And in conjunction with crushing and screening facility the required quantity and quality of bauxite is produced.

The mining in Western Ghats of Maharashtra differs from that in Gujarat. Here the mining activities are carried out on hills ranging from 200 meters to 500 meters above mean sea level.

At Ashapura we believe that sustainable development can be achieved by harmonising conservation of mineral resources and development concerns through a well-planned strategy. Our mining operations are directed and controlled by professionally qualified mining engineers and geologists. A scientific, systematic and well-planned mining operation is carried out by our Mining Engineers.

Mining operations in Western Ghats are also closely aligned with difficult logistics. Ashapura has overcome strong challenges from underdeveloped road and port infrastructure.

The mining operations are semi-mechanised. A Beneficiation plant complete with Jaw crushers, Vibrating screens and other heavy earth moving and transportation equipments at the mine site ensures uniform sizing and sieving.
