Bhuj
Plant, Gujarat, India
This
plant is the world’s second largest single location
facility for manufacturing Bleaching Earth.
Ashapura
Volclay Limited (AVL), through a Technology License
Agreement with Mizusawa, is able to use the trade name
‘Galleon’ and world class Filterless Technology
to process Bentonite. Galleon Earth is widely used as
a refining agent for various animal and vegetable fats
and oils, fatty acids, lubricating oils and waxes. Galleon
Earth has excellent adsorbing properties and is currently
available in two grades - V2 and V2 Super.
AVL’s
indigenously manufactured bleaching clay has found wide
acceptance in both Indian and overseas markets since
it is able to customize grades to meet specific demands
of the edible oil refineries. The company doubled its
capacity to 50,000 MT in 2006, and is contemplating
another expansion to meet the increasing market demand.
The
product is backed by a worldclass R&D Centre, large
reserves of captive mines, qualified & technically
competent personnel. The plant is HACCP & ISO Certified.
The
product is DIOXIN free and complies to FEDIOL standards.
Clay Catalyst: This unit also produces the ‘ACTAL’
brand Clay Catalyst which finds application in the Petrochemical
Refining industry. We are one of the three approved
producers of this catalyst worldwide. The product is
being successfully used in major Oil & Petrochemical
refineries across the world.
Dharur
Plant, Andhra Pradesh, India
Having pioneered and established the Bentonite based
Bleaching Clay plant at Kutch, Ashapura has successfully
replicated its success in the Soft Oil based Bleaching
Clay segment at Dharur in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from
accesses to the primary raw mineral Attapulgite, the
location of the plant gives a logistical edge for exports
to the world’s largest Palm Oil producing and
refining countries in South East Asia.
The
product has been successfully accepted by the major
oil refiners in the country and overseas. The product
is sold in the market under the brand name “CLEARFLOW’’.
Ashapura
AMCOL NV (Antwerp, Belgium)
Given the strategic importance of Europe as a market
for Ashapura’s product basket, the company has
set up a Mineral Processing Complex at Antwerp as a
50:50 Joint Venture with AMCOL International Corporation.
The processing facility has the capability of processing
three products namely Bentonite, Bleaching Clay and
Kaolin, which would be exported from India in a semi-processed
form.
Antwerp
facility today serves all the major oil refiners of
Europe and has greatly added value in terms of inventory
management and quality control to the refiners by making
available a cost-effective and quality product at their
doorstep.
All
the BE grades from the Ashapura plants, backed by a
strong sales and technical support team, are available
ex-stock at this facility.
MPA
Hudson, Selangor, Malaysia
Malaysia is a very large and important production centre
for edible oils. Ashapura has a 25% stake in Hudson
MPA Snd. Bhd. (Hudson), a reputed Bleaching Clay manufacturer
in Malaysia. The company imports Attapulgite and Bleaching
Clay from Ashapura, India, and processes it further
for its eventual marketing in Malaysia and neighbouring
countries.

Minimal
Oil Retention:
Quick easy settling and filtration results in
less oil loss for the customer and higher throughput
. |
 |
Lower
Dosage:
Higher active surface area results in improved
bleaching capacity using less quantity of clay. |
 |
Higher
Absorbing Capacity:
Effectively removes soap content, phosphatides,
peroxides and heavy metal traces due to large
pore diameter, pore volume and surface area. |
