This
is a joint venture company established by Ashapura
Minechem Ltd. with AMCOL Int. Corp.
of USA for manufacturing bentonite and clay
based value added products in India. It has a state-of
the art bleaching earth manufacturing facility at Bhuj,
Gujarat, in technological collaboration with Japan’s
Mizusawa Industrial Chemicals Limited. AVL is the only
company outside of Japan licensed to use the ‘Galleon’
brand of bleaching earth used worldwide to refine edible
oil. The company also has the reputation for being the
first Indian company to manufacture Geosynthetic
Clay Liners (GCL) in technological collaboration
with Colloid Environmental Technologies (CETCO),
the global leader in GCL technology, which is a subsidiary
of AMCOL.
